Yesterday Jackson apologized to Obama about making a crude and inappropriate remark. The apology was issued before the remark was made public. So, what did he say? Here is what an open microphone caught Jackson whispering to a fellow interviewee: “See, Barack’s been talking down to black people … I want to cut his nuts off. "
Like I mentioned in my earlier post, always assume the media is listening, especially when you have a mic on you!
Tonight Jackson will appear on CNN with Larry King to discuss the matter. Here are some things that Jesse Jackson is doing right.
First, he managed to have Fox News hold off on airing the quote while he contacted Obama to apologize and then issued a public apology.
Second, he will be appearing on Larry King to explain himself and offer his mea culpa - again.
Third, (and this is wishful thinking), hopefully he will learn his lesson and be careful about what he says in the future.
All in all, he is handling this very bad situation in a very good way.
