Five Ways To Get Your Marketing Off To a Great Start!

I know a lot of people started off 2009 with great intentions of getting out there and building their book of clients. These wonderful intentions were often quickly sidetracked by economic fears and the overwhelming urge to keep one's head and practice above water. Hopefully the eminent passage of the stimulus bill (whether you believe it will work or not) will give Americans hope and that will loosen their purse strings making it easier for lawyers to bill hours without fear.

Bottom line- its not too late to restart your good intentions and today is your day. So without further hyperbole- here are five things you need to accomplish this week to get started on a profitable 2009!
  1. Start a Linkedin Page for yourself or your Firm. Connect with as many people as you can.
  2. Organize your contact list of current clients, former clients, referring attorneys and other professional contact into an Excel spreadsheet for future email newsletter mail outs.
  3. Sign up for www.verticalresponse.com. This remarkable site will allow you jump start your e-marketing campaign and update all of your contacts with your accomplishments, useful information about your practice area and all your media mentions for just dollars a month.
  4. Do some research on the five top websites/blogs/online periodicals related to your practice area.
  5. Commit to spending 15 minutes a day studying news/trends/developments regarding your practice area that you can share with your contacts to help them with their business problems.
