Is Your Practice Area In The News? Talk About It!

All the news about Sir. R. Allen Stanford's alleged financial misdoings have once again turned the spotlight on financial fraud. Whenever we see a particular practice area in the news we start looking for a good attorney to talk about it.

Yesterday as authorities were scrambling to find Sir Stanford, we were scrambling to find a financial fraud attorney and media train them for the inevitable call we would get from our media contacts looking for legal perspective. Thankfully by 4:00 PM we found our man- Ben Elmore- an attorney with Perdue and Kidd who represented plaintiffs in a Ponzi scheme perpetrated in California by a member of Scientology. Almost to the minute federal authorities located Stanford in Virginia- we got a call from Fox -TV looking for a legal analyst. Some last minute media training later, Ben Elmore found himself front and center in the media spotlight talking about Stanford in the eighth largest media market in the country. Not bad.

Next time you notice your practice area in the headlines, be proactive and approach the media offering your perspective. If you have a client that has been directly affected and is willing to talk- you've just struck gold! Call a reporter and share your expertise!
