Top Ten Lawyer Movies

Thought I'd share the movies I love that made me want to become a lawyer- almost. If it wasn't for that pesky Bar exam and expensive law school:
(ranked in order of importance)
  1. To Kill a Mockingbird- Gregory Peck and a peek into the best part of the human soul- the compassionate crusader.
  2. 12 Angry Men- Jack Lemmon gives I think, his most brilliant performance here with the exception of his role in "Glen Gary Glennross".
  3. Philadelphia- Denzel Washington and Tom Hanks- still gives me chills
  4. Erin Brokovitch- Julia Roberts in the best role of her career
  5. A Few Good Men- Who can argue with the tag line of the century? "You can't handle the truth!"
  6. Runaway Jury- Not a lot of people fully appreciate the beauty of a truly well executed "gotcha" ending. This one takes the cake- best since "The Usual Suspects".
  7. A Civil Action- again, I think lawyers look best when they are the compassionate crusader.
  8. The Verdict- Paul Newman plays a down-on-his-luck lawyer who finds redemption in his role as ... yup- compassionate crusader. If you love Newman like I do- you must see the best film he ever made- "Cool Hand Luke".
  9. The Firm- pure entertainment - who knew a lawyer could run so fast with a briefcase stuffed with files?
  10. My Cousin Vinney- if you haven't seen this movie yet- do it tonight. Crack open a beer and laugh, laugh, laugh.

The suspense and the drama in the court always make me want to jump off my seat whenever I watch. I've watched Erin Brokovich before, and I agree that it is one of the best roles that she took up in her career as an actress.

I agree with Charla. My sister and I love to watch lawyer movies or any kind of movie that has lawyers in it. We just can't get enough of the drama and the suspense! We always love the part where the victim gets vindicated in the end. Happy endings are great!
