Do You Have a Story? Find Your Audience

Many times we get asked, "I think I have a newsworthy story. What should I do with it?" We always answer the same way, what is your purpose of approaching the media? What is your message? Who is your audience? Today we examine, at least in the Houston market which audiences are are watching late television news.

KHOU 11: Has the highest socioeconomic and female skew 26% Male, 74% female. 51% Adults aged 25-54, 70% Strong white index. Median income $64,387

KTRK 13: Has the highest skew of adults 25-54 and the strongest Black and Hispanic audience.

KPRC 2: Has the most educated audience and the highest household income. But it also has the largest number of employed white collar individuals.

Choose your media outlet according to the audience you want to hear your message. Tomorrow we will examine the early morning news audience profiles!
